believe it or not, there is already a cult following for a religious based weight loss program named 'The Weight Down Workshop and Remnant Fellowship- the pioneer of faith based weight loss", a new sect created by Gwen Shamblin in the early 90s. the biblical based diet is all about seminars and merchanises (check them out on the website posted), and the followers will leave the program with a new lifestyle and new religion. btw, Shamblin is from Tennessee...(um, miller?!)
the program feeds on guilt. shit, just like my developing cult. it uses biblical texts to support its doctrines.
Shamblin equates overeating with sin, writing 'people are lusting after it and longing for it and are basically in bed with it.' how can my religion compete with this? actually, i am really glad that such a ridiculous thing exists..I have yet another precedent to look at!
